Public Participation Meeting for New High Voltage Power Line this coming Wednesday
According to a notice published in the May 24 edition of the Brownwood Bulletin, “Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor) is proposing to construct a new 765 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from Oncor’s proposed Dinosaur Switch, located approximately 3 miles north of the City of Glen Rose in Somervell County, to Oncor’s existing Longshore Switch located approximately 4.5 miles west of the City of Forsan in Howard County, TX.”
The proposed project is called the Dinosaur-Longshore 765 kV Transmission Line. A map published with the notice shows two preliminary route links passing through the northern half of Brown County.
Oncor is holding a series of Public Participation meetings in support of this project. The nearest meeting to Brownwood is in Stephenville, about 63 miles away, this Wed. June 4, at the Cross Timbers Legacy Center, 830 S. Graham Ave. from 5-7 pm. This is a “come and go” open house meeting regarding the routing of the project.
This is your opportunity “to ask questions and provide comments to representatives and technical experts from Oncor, Kimley-Horn and Associates, and Halff Associates,” (consulting firms retained by Oncor for the project).
